Our focus is on empowering women and youths with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in the agriculture sector provided there are effects of climate change. We are promoting income generating activities that contribute to poverty alleviation.
Key initiatives:
Consultancy on good farming practices:
WEI Tanzania offers expert consultancy services that educate women and youths on sustainable farming practices, crop management and environmentally friendly practices. Our goal is to equip women and youths farmers with the tools to maximize productivity and reduce climate change and environmental impacts.
Value addition to agricultural products:
We emphasize the importance of adding value to agricultural products. By training women and youths in processing techniques and innovative practices, we help them enhance the quality and marketability of their goods. Through this, increases their income potential and promotes local foods system.
Capacity building:
We provide targeted training programs designed to build the capacity of women in income generating activities. These programs cover essential topics such as financial literacy, business planning, resource management, enabling participants to make informed decisions and improve their economic prospects.
Market access facilitation:
WEI Tanzania acts as an intermediary link between farmers and the market, assisting women and youths in accessing market for their agricultural produce. We connect them with buyers, distributors and network that can help them expand their reach and secure better prices for their goods.
Entrepreneurship development:
WEI Tanzania fosters entrepreneurship by providing resources and support for women and youths to start their own businesses. We facilitate workshops and mentorship programs that guide women through the process of developing business ideas, securing and launching successful ventures.
Nutrition education and malnutrition:
To combat malnutrition among children and youths, WEI Tanzania advocates for proper use of balanced diets and nutrition awareness. We promote and facilitate school gardens as part of our supplementary feeding initiatives, encouraging students to grow their own nutritious foods and learn about healthy eating.
