WASH

Women and children are the ones who suffers most when it comes in the shortage of water and sanitation services. WEI Tanzania being the NGO which supports the initiatives set by women on water and sanitation issues; it promotes scalable solutions on means to strengthen access to sustainable Water Supply and improved Sanitation and hygiene facilities and services. The work has been involving designing and implementation of rural and urban pro-poor water supply schemes with context-appropriate or adapted technological options, providing technical assistance to both water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) line Ministries, regional and district Government and utilities on developing Policies, strategies, guidelines and district wide plans for water, sanitation and hygiene, test commercial models for water, sanitation and hygiene services for the poor and providing technical assistance and developing capacities of water supply management bodies.

WEI Tanzania also ensure the school children are accessing improved sanitation, hygiene and menstruation services through construction of sanitation facilities and water supply in their schools. WEI Tanzania also empowers school children by helping them to form school sanitation and environmental clubs. Empowered school children are ambassador of improved sanitation and hygiene behaviors in their communities and their schools.

Through the help of like-minded organizations; WEI Tanzania conduct these WASH interventions in various districts of Dodoma region.
